Hello Everyone, I love to crochet with thread and you can make such dainty and lacy things with thread. They do have different size of thread that you can use to crochet with. What is amazing is that the smaller the number of the thread the bigger the strand of thread it is. You would think it would be the other way around for example a size 20 thread is thinner than a size 3 fashion thread. I use the classic size 10 the most when I work with thread.
I have come to find out that thread is versatile. You can make so many things with the thread. You can make anything from clothing to jewelry and even art.
Hello Everyone, I am excited because with Spring the camping season will be here soon. Yes I love to go camping. I do need to get busy and find room for more items like towels, silverware and etc. I then started to research on crochet patterns for a camper. Below you will find some of those patterns.
I am so looking forward to the feeling I get from getting away and camping. Let me know if you like to go camping and if you have any ideas or any patterns that I have not seen.
Easter is fast approaching so I thought I would see what I could crochet for some decorations. I created this Easter Basket. I love the way it turned out and it really is simple to make.
What you will need is a I/9 5.50 mm.
I used 2 strands of yarn and it was some that I had left over. I use Red Heart yarn and it did not take even a full skein of yarn. I used a variegated and a solid together.
You will also need 2 pipe cleaners, some craft glue, a yarn needle to sew in the ends and the handle on the basket and something to decorate the outside of the basket.
I used some jeweled color gems that I purchased from a local craft store. You really do not need a gauge for this project.
Stitches used single crochet (sc)
chain (ch)
slip stitch (sl st)
The basket is worked in rounds but you will slip stitch together at the end of each round, ch 1 turn and go the other direction.
In the magic circle sc 8 times and then pull the magic circle together.
Rnd 2 ch 1 turn, 2 sc in each st around, sl st into the 1st sc (16 sc)
Rnd 3 ch1 turn, * 2 sc in next st, sc in the next st* continue between *’s around, sl st together (24 sc)
Rnd 4 ch 1 turn, * 2 sc in next st, sc in the next 2 sts* continue between *’s around, sl st together (32 sc)
Rnd 5 ch 1 turn, sc in next st and around, sl st together
Rnd 6 ch 1 turn, * 2 sc in next st, sc in the next 3 sts* continue between *’s around, sl st together (40 sc)
Rnd 7 Repeat rnd 5
Rnd 8 ch 1 turn, * 2 sc in next st, sc in the next 4 sts* continue between *’s around, sl st together (48 sc)
Rnd 9 Repeat rnd 5
Rnd 10 – 17 Continue to repeat rnd 5, fasten off and weave in ends
The Handle
I used 2 pipe cleaners twisted together
ch 47
Row 1 Sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in the next st, now take the 2 twisted pipe cleaners and start to sc over them, continue to do this across and at the end sc in the last 2 sts, fasten off and weave in the ends
Now sew the handle onto the basket about 2 inches down from the top, I used the variegated yarn to sew the handle on and as you can see below it blended really well.
I then proceeded to glue on the gems for a finished basket. If you have any questions please contact me and I will be happy to answer them for you.
