Hello Everyone, I love to crochet with thread and you can make such dainty and lacy things with thread. They do have different size of thread that you can use to crochet with. What is amazing is that the smaller the number of the thread the bigger the strand of thread it is. You would think it would be the other way around for example a size 20 thread is thinner than a size 3 fashion thread. I use the classic size 10 the most when I work with thread.
I have come to find out that thread is versatile. You can make so many things with the thread. You can make anything from clothing to jewelry and even art.
Below are some of the items that I have created with thread.
Let me know if you have created anything with thread and if you any favorite patterns.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a Fabulous Evening!
While I was having fun searching my favorite sites I ran across a picture of a deer that had been crocheted. I then said Wow! It looked so life like but it had been crocheted. I of course then did some more research and found that there was some people that were doing a thing called Taxidermy Crochet.
This is one of the many pictures of animals that Shauna Richardson has done. I was amazed by what she was able to accomplish with crochet. If you want to know more about her you can go to http://shaunarichardson.com/
Another picture I had ran across was one from Nathan Vincent. His Lion that he had created was awesome in my opinion. To see more of Nathan’s work go to http://nathanvincent.com/
I wanted to know how you they had accomplished this art form. It was then on to more research to see if anyone had a pattern of taxidermy crochet. I soon discovered a form of Faux Taxidermy. There were different ways to accomplish this form of crochet.
This I thought would be great for a child’s room! You can find her pattern at Ravelry: Rhinka the Rhino – Faux Taxidermy Head pattern by Sanda J. Dobrosavljev. I found quite a few of these kind of faux crochet on Pinterest that I thought were cute.
Another way of the accomplishing the faux taxidermy is to use a sweater that you no longer want. I thought it was quite a unique way of adding some art to your home.
This artist name is Rachel Denny and she uses mixed media to create her art. She has some amazing and unique art of nature. You can find more information on her at http://racheldenny.com/
I showed my husband the picture I found of the deer from Shauna Richardson and of course you know what he asked. He wanted to know if I could do something like that for him. I now get to add that to my list of things I want to try in crochet. I am not sure that I will be able to accomplish something like this but I sure would like to give it a try! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by and coming into my world of creative crochet!
